THOMAS E. MERRILL
Dr. Thomas E. Merrill is a Washington native. He was born and raised in Seattle. He moved to Wenatchee after high school graduation, and has called Wenatchee home ever since. From 1991-1993, he lived among the people of Costa Rica s a missionary, becoming fluent in Spanish. He then attended BYU, where he graduated in 1995, with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. He earned his Doctorate in 1999, from the University of Washington Dental School, graduating with honors, and finishing at the top of his class. Immediately following his graduation, he then began his two-year orthodontic specialty training at the University of Minnesota, where he also taught in the dental school and commpleted a Masters Degree in Orthodontics. In June of 2001, he finished his residency and returned tothe Wenatchee Valley where he, Elisabeth, and their four daughters now reside. In February of 2006, Dr. Merrill officially became Board Certified in Orthodontics, a strictly voluntary process that goes beyond the state requirements for Orthodontics, and of which fewer than 20% of Orthodontists achieve. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Washington State Society of Othodontists, North Central District Dental Society, Mission Ridge Orthodontic Study Club, and the North Central Washington Implant Study Club. He is a past president of the North Central District Dental Society, was a member of the Dental Peer Review Committee, and is a delagate to the Washington State Dental Association House of Delegates. He also volunteers his time on the Central Washington Cleft Palate Team, has worked with Boy Scouts of America for the last 14 years, and is an avid fly-fisherman.
